I just checked the other machine.

    Device name is OCZ-Vertex 128.0GB.
    All modes are in Auto
    32 bit transfer is enabled.

On googling the trim facility some people are saying you must leave the machine sitting at the login screen for 15mins once a week. Is this the case? I dont have a login screen.
Excude my ignorance as this is my frist SSD.

    Thanks,

    Robert.

    Hi Wavey,

First of all I should just make sure you understand that Im not the "Andy@kobalt", im just one of the forum members. However I do happen to have a little knowledge of SSD's .

As for TRIM, you dont need to let the PC sit at the logon screen at all, you are getting GC (Garbage Collection) and TRIM confused. What firmware version are you running on your SSD? If you are running the latest version (v1.5) then TRIM will automatically function and also GC will function everytime your PC is idle - both of these functions maintain the SSD speed and keep your drive healthy .

    Cheers,

    Andy
