Kobalt Commanche Launch Next Week

Hi all,

We're pleased to announce that next week we will be launching the new Comanche Notebook. Featuring Intel Core 2 Duo/ Quad/ Extreme Processors, DDR2-800MHz Memory, 8800M GTX SLI Graphics, RAID and a 17" 1920 x 1200 X-Glass Screen.


The Comanche will also offer the option to choose one of the new range of Intel ' Yorkfield' and 'Wolfdale' dual and quad core processors:

Intel Core 2 Duo Processors -

E8400 3.0GHz, 1333MHz FSB, 6MB Cache
E8500 3.16GHz, 1333MHz FSB, 6MB Cache

Intel Core 2 Quad Processors -

Q9300 2.5GHz, 1333MHz FSB, 6MB Cache
Q9450 2.66GHz, 1333MHz FSB, 12MB Cache
Q9550 2.83GHz, 1333MHz FSB, 12MB Cache



The Comanche will also see the introduction of Solid State hard drive options in the form of OCZ's flash drives. These will be available in two capacities 32GB and 64GB. They feature read speeds of upto 200MB/s write speeds of upto 100MB/s and zero latency.

All our notebooks from next week will feature custom paint and laser etching options, including the Comanche.

Hi All,my decision just keeps getting harder and harder!!!!!! Your just too cruel!!!!. Was set on a maxed out Mojave XI and was waiting for the arrival of the x9000extreme, now everything is up in the air. :p If you can get them out as quick as you think the comanche will be of interest. Looking forward to seeing the options available and placing my order and await more news with anticipation. :)

P.S Will all these processors be available to order from next week? Thank-you.

Yup all those listed processors will be available as options from next week! The X9000 will also be added to the Mojave IX and XI as we are expecting the new chassis on Tuesday.

are those the min specs for each version?
will you be offering 8800ms seperate?

i hope that you will be or ill be forced to look outside the EU and i dont want to do that.

is it possible to have Vista Premium 64bit or do you only offer 32bit?

Yes those are the base specs for each version.

8800MS? Do you mean if you wanted to upgrade a single 8800 GTX at a later point to SLI? If so the answer is yes.

Yup as with our other notebooks we'll offer all versions of 32-bit and 64-bit Vista.

Ah ok! Yes we will be able to sell 8800's on their own - we will be getting 2 x 8800's for every Comanche we order from our suppliers so we will have limited excess stock. We may decide to only offer them as upgrades though, it depends what demand is like.

Yes 32-bit and 64-bit versions cost the same :D
