Since first Vista boot on my Nexus i've been experiencing excessive SSD activity (which i use as the system drive).
Following some online advice, i disabled the Ready Boost service, which led to a performance gain.
Ready Boost is one of the two checkable functions available in the Intel Turbo Memory console.
I later observed in the Intel Turbo Memory console/View/System Information box that the software may be using the SSD as a "turbo memory" cache rather that the 2gb Turbo Memory module (Robson). This a log detailing the discrepancy:
System
Kit Installed: 8.1.0.1001

Intel(R) Turbo Memory

Surely it should specify the 2gb Turbo Memory module not the OCZ-SSD as the cache disk location. If the SSD is being used for both the virtual memory and the turbo memory cache this would explain the excessive activity. If this is the case how can i reconfigure my system to use the 2gb Turbo Memory module instead? How can i even detect whether the Turbo Memory module is present and installed correctly (there is nothing specific to the module in the Device Manager)?
Thanks in advance.
