Hi

I emailed this question to Kobalt but didnt get a reply. Although come to think of it when i signed up to these forums the welcome note went into my 'spam' box so i probably just didnt see it.

Im British but im currently considered a Non UK resident as i work and live in Iraq, which means i dont pay UK tax. I do however go back to england when on leave. I have a UK bank account aswell as an offshore one.

My question is do i qualify for a VAT free laptop if bought on this site? Id like the laptop delivered to the UK even though im not there all that often purely because of the postal system here not being all that great!

p.s. im loving the look of the desktops you guys produce. when im finished here ill definitly be thinking of buying one of those systems from you.

since both your postal adress and bank account is british, I dont think there will be any way of getting free tax.

I do know though, that if your out of your country for like 180days, then you can get tax free.

Also, if you work in th army, you could claim back the tax through your government!

Sorry you didn't receive a reply. I'm sure I saw a reply to your message on someone's e-mail here, hopefully it was just misplaced.

If the delivery address is in the UK then I'm afraid we cannot sell it to you without the VAT. The regulations are pretty strict so there's very little we can do. Sorry about that.

ah well, fair enough.

as for making pc's being a pleasure, your experience must differ from mine some what. my hands get cut up just changing a GPU let alone making an entire system!
