"The hardware in this system reads like a who's who of performance computing components. There's a Core2 Extreme QX9650 that's been overclocked from 3GHz to 4GHz, plus 4GB of OCZ Reaper X DDR2 overclocked to 1,066MHz and the 64-bit version of Vista Home Premium to let you use all of this memory.
Possibly more important is the inclusion of the GeForce 9800 GX2, which has been modified with a waterblock to cool its two GPU's."
"The tidiness of the water-cooling loop is helped by Kobalt's decision not to water-cool the Asus Maximus Formula motherboard. Kobalt has a good reason for this in that the brunt of the CPU overclock is taken by the CPU itself and not by the Intel X38 chipset. By using a QX9650 and increasing the multiplyer from 9x to 10x and the FSB from 333MHz to 400MHz to achieve the 4GHz clock speed, the Northbridge isn't heavily overclocked, so it doesn't become too hot!"
"The sheer performance on offer is where the Apache ICE X scores highly. We're particularly impressed with the high image editing score, as this shows that the data flows quickly around this system. Also of note is the playability of Crysis at 1,920 x 1,200."
